Intermission
Since we’re at the middle point of A Work in Progress, I thought it’d be a good time to take a week break. Three reasons:
A) Website needs a few fixes and a couple important pages that I now have time to make.
2) Slider edit needs as much time as possible. Nearly twice as much raw as the other stuff.
III) It’s Halloween weekend. Everyone should be busy enough getting crazy. If you’re not, GET ON IT.
So… do work, get some, and meet back here for a new edit on 11/6.
Peace.
A Work in Progress – Part 3
Well here it is, Part 3 and the halfway point of the WIP series. This seg, also shot in Cape Hatteras, NC at Real Watersports features many of the riders at the forefront of the wakestyle movement. Boots and a low kite are only part of the wakestyle equation; to make it look this good you need tons of speed, commitment and a big bag of tricks to keep things fresh for the camera. This particular segment was shot over two flat water sessions during Real’s Triple S invitational, and is the second of three edits you’ll see. Next up: the marque event of the 2009 Triple S, SLIDERS. Get ready, cuz it’s gonna be a freaky deaky Halloween edit coming in one week. Enjoy!
A Work in Progress – Part 2
Another Friday, another edit. This week we debut the first of three segments from the Triple S Invitational, held every June at the Real Watersports facility in Cape Hatteras, NC. The cool thing about the Triple S, other than epic parties, amazing friends and a perfect location, is it gives a fairly accurate week-long snapshot of the state of progressive kiting. Riders and photographers alike pick their sessions without the rigid framework of timed heats or even a set venue. If it’s on the OBX and it’s windy, it’s game.
A huge thanks to my extended family at Real. Without them, these next three segments would not be possible. Support the companies that support progressive kiteboarding, click http://www.realwatersports.com
A Work in Progress – Part 1
Eric Rienstra, the Airush FunBox and a big ol’ booter… If that isn’t a recipe for some legit riding under the kite, I don’t really know what is. Eric is a really rad guy to film with; super professional and always down to push it to get some shots. We shot most of his seg in late July with only 2 or 3 sessions of filming, so his consistency is definitely up there too. The gangster homie Ian Daly from Inept even rolls up at the end to spread the steez and do work on the 2nd Wind Wall Ride.
A Work in Progress – Teaser 1
Well, it’s the first Friday of October, which can mean only one thing: Edit drop!!! This is the first teaser for the scheme I’m calling ‘A Work in Progress’; a multi segment, interwebs-based and completely free riding flick. Anyways, I’ll let the teaser speak for itself, just be certain there’s much, much more coming every Friday here at cineaptic.com. Out.
