Nate Appel Inks with Liquid Force
HOOD RIVER (Reuters) – Cineaptic.com interweb and DVD mega-mogul Nate Appel just recently signed on as Team Filmer for long-time sponsor Liquid Force Kiteboarding.
Via satellite from an undisclosed Mexican location, Appel was pleased with the agreement.
“This is huge! LF gives me the all the rad shit in kiting to film, and I like, film it, man! It’s ideal”
Appel foresees a major stock increase, as the LF deal ushers in incredible bottom-line savings.
“Since everyone on the LF team keeps their kite below 45, it allows me to purchase a tripod that only pans. No tilt! Saves me real dollars and keeps me from spilling my coozie while shooting! That’s 5 long necks up and 5 saved from not having to tilt up on dangle passes!”
Money in the bank for the progression of kiting.

Quick note to head over to my boy Chris Stuckey’s website http://www.thechrisstuckey.com and DONATE for his bid in the 2010 New Orleans Leukemia Cup Regatta. During the window of 3/19 to 3/21 he’ll be attempting to kite across Lake Pontchartrain, a feat he accomplished a little under a year ago for the same cause. Check it!
2010, Baja and Winter Shredz
For the very first post of 2010, I’d like to thank each and every person who pre ordered and purchased their copy of A Work in Progress in 2009. Buying the DVD is a big deal; it legitimizes the potential of future projects and most importantly allows me to continue to deliver free content through Cineaptic.com. So, for that, props! If you haven’t bought the DVD yet, get on it! Click the link to the right, make your secure Paypal transaction and get stoked when a fresh, glossy new copy of AWIP shows at your door.

Baja
Things have gotten off to a quick start for 2010 around here. A few days ago I was stoked to find out that on Jan 18th I’ll be joining the boys at Liquid Force for a most excellent Baja Road Trip in the all new LF Winnebago. We’ll be surfing, riding, filming and partying our way down the Baja Peninsula all the way to La Ventana, the site of this year’s La Ventana Classic and Kite Expo. Be sure to check back here for photo and video updates from the road, as long as I can poach a strong enough internet connection.

La Ventana
This trip can’t come at a better time. Here in the Hood our early winter has gotten a bit soggy, with nothing but rain above 5000′ for the last two weeks. Good thing we hunkered down back in November and December, took the hits, built some setups and scored about a week of strong shred footy! The crew took on everything from a rail jam in downtown Hood River to assembling the first ever backyard park at the Windance house with the camera rolling the whole time. Pressed. Tapped. Owned. Anticipate getting stoked on some fresh winter edits within the week. In the meantime, back to packing…
Intermission
Since we’re at the middle point of A Work in Progress, I thought it’d be a good time to take a week break. Three reasons:
A) Website needs a few fixes and a couple important pages that I now have time to make.
2) Slider edit needs as much time as possible. Nearly twice as much raw as the other stuff.
III) It’s Halloween weekend. Everyone should be busy enough getting crazy. If you’re not, GET ON IT.
So… do work, get some, and meet back here for a new edit on 11/6.
Peace.
